VJ Books presents Adrian McKinty!

Adrian McKinty is the critically acclaimed author of Dead I Well May Be, the award-winning The Dead Yard, The Bloomsday Dead, and Hidden River. He has written nine books, six of which form two trilogies. He is primarily known as a writer of genre fiction: crime and mystery novels and young adult fiction.

Publishers Weekly has called him "one of his generation's leading talents" and Patrick Anderson of the Washington Post has praised McKinty as a leading light in the new wave of Irish crime novelists whose most celebrated members are Ken Bruen, Declan Hughes and John Connolly.

McKinty was born and grew up in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland at the height of the Troubles. He read law at the University of Warwick and politics and philosophy at the University of Oxford. Having given up on a legal career in England, McKinty moved to New York City in the early 1990's and found work as a security guard, postman, construction worker, barman, bookstore clerk, high school teacher, rugby coach, librarian and door to door salesman before moving to Denver, Colorado where became a full time writer. After ten years in Colorado, he moved to Melbourne, Australia.

He now lives in St. Kilda, Australia with his wife and two children.
