Grant Blackwood Update!

It was some time in the winter of 2008/2009 that we learned of Clive Cussler’s new series featuring the two present day treasure hunters Sam and Remi Fargo, and that it was to be co-written by Grant Blackwood. I was familiar with Grant, having read and thoroughly enjoyed his Briggs Tanner series.

We met the following fall at the Clive Cussler Collector’s Convention, and have been friends ever since. He and his wife Julie are two wonderful people.

When I learned last spring that Grant had co-authored the next Jack Ryan novel with none other than Tom Clancy, I immediately called him to learn more. The book was still in pre-release, and details were limited, but I was eager to learn the genesis of what was sure to be a really big book.

It’s been an incredible year and a half for Grant. As if Spartan Gold and Lost Empire topping all book lists, and Dead or Alive now available were not enough, his newest book with Clive Cussler, The Kingdom, is finished and scheduled for a June 2011 release.

What ever happens next with Grant Blackwood, well, it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy!
