Eisler lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area and continues to travel frequently to Japan and other parts of Asia.

Eisler's thrillers have won the Barry Award and the Gumshoe Award for Best Thriller of the Year; have been included in numerous "Best Of" lists, including those of the San Jose Mercury News, Publishers Weekly, Ft. Myers News-Press, Deadly Pleasures, and the San Francisco Chronicle; and have been translated into nearly twenty languages.

The first book in the Eisler's John Rain series, Rain Fall, has been made into a movie starring Gary Oldman and will be released by Sony Pictures Japan in March 2009.
