Book Description

See all titles by Brian Haig.

Secret Sanctions Major Sean Drummond is back, with a one-upping female co-counselor in a controversial murder trial, the outcome of which may have global consequences. JAG lawyer Sean Drummond has gotten himself in way over his head with a case that challenges his deepest fears and a co-counselor who challenges just about everything else. Assigned to South Korea as an advocate for a gay officer accused of brutally killing the son of a South Korean war hero, Drummond is teamed up with an old law-school nemesis. Katherine Carson is a curvy, liberal, William Kunstler-like attorney with a reputation for manipulating the media on behalf of her mostly gay clients. Drummond is as distraught to be working with a woman who knows how to push all his buttons as he is to be defending this client. However, its just this lack of political correctness that makes him the one man the CIA can trust with its disturbing secrets, and Drummond quickly learns that what appears to be an open-and-shut case is really just the top layer of a deep conspiracy.

Mortal allies November 14, 2010
Reviewer: P. Sutton from Inglewood, West Australia
Book 2 of the series of Sean Drummond. I have really enjoyed this series and now plowing my way through book three.
I really like the character Drummond and the mixture of odd bod other players and believe Haig has done a fantastic job in putting a really good story together which is fast paced and gives a really good insight into the military investigations and International diplomacy. This is based around a murder of a gay man and the subsequent investigations  and makes you stop and think about your sterotyping people.
I have the complete set of Haig books and I am really looking forward to reading them if they are of the same excellent standard this one is.
