John R. Maxim is the author of the crtitically acclaimed novels Haven , The Shadow Box, and other highly praised novels, including Time Out of Mind, Abel Baker Charley, and the bestselling Bannerman series.

Born and raised in Manhattan, John graduated from Fordham University and went into advertising, working on Madison Ave. He rose to the title of Senior VP and moved to Greenwich, CT, and later Westport, CT.

 

One night, while commuting home in the bar car of his train, he decided to quit and try writing. Platforms was sold within six months (without even using an agent), and the rest is history.

 

If a locale or country appears in one of John's novels, you can assume he spent enough time there to write about it.

 

John currently makes his home his home in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, where he lives with his beautiful wife, and continues to create novels that we can't put down.
