Jonathan Santlofer is the author of five novels including The Death Artist, The Murder Notebook, and Color Blind.

He was first known as an abstract painter, but after a gallery fire in Chicago destroyed five years of his work, he retreated to Rome where he spent time looking at Renaissance and Baroque art, drawing, and began to write fiction as a form of creative release.

Upon returning to New York, he began writing his first fiction novel, The Death Artist. His illustrated thriller Anatomy of Fear takes an original twist as he mixes drawings from the points of view of a police sketch artist and a serial killer obsessed with leaving sketches of his victims at the scenes of his crimes.

Santlofer has penned five best-selling mysteries that each beg a place in any serious collection.
