**In an age where cell phones rule, and the internet abounds, James Patterson is still able to rewind time and create a medieval masterpiece. Following a character through the crusades and into a web of loss and revenge, Patterson's signature short chapters and quick intense action make this book not only readable, but very enjoyable.

I began this novel with low expectations. The prospects of a sword fight and horses were not something I've enjoyed in the past, but Patterson has a way of adapting his stories into something more. The sheer emotion of the story is enough to push the reader through and keep the pages turning.
