This is a composite of the NUMA teams of Kurt and Joe and Paul and Gamay, who usually don't use their unique skill sets together but for the problem involved in this story. It seems that a former member of NUMA's research division had sent a coded message as she was leaving Antarctica, describing her find, knowing that she might be killed on her voyage. She leaves them a clue on the vessel that she was floating in, totally encrusted with ice, special ice infested with an alga that freezes water fast.--Fast Ice. Like the title, the book is full of fast adventures ,most of them on the continent of Antarctica with below zero temperatures
