This is an Eve Duncan forensic thriller. A serial killer has killed 4 women in England and moves to the United States and begins murdering women on the East Coast. Each woman has similar facial features and similar hair coloring; they all look very much alike. The MO of the serial killer is to remove the face of the victims. Eve Duncan is given a victim's skull to identify and is shocked when the face could be that of her adopted daughter Jane MacGuire. This novel features Jane. New Protagonists introduced are Mark Trevor and his traveling buddy, Bartlett. This is the first novel that features Jane at the age of 17. Jane has her driver's license and is seeking early admission to Harvard University. Johansen's fans will enjoy this thriller. This is a good time to start featuring Jane. This is a fascinating read Johansen's fans will enjoy.
