PAST TENSE by Lee Child - SIGNED FIRST EDITION BOOK

See all titles by Lee Child.

Jack Reacher hits the pavement and sticks out his thumb. He plans to follow the sun on an epic trip across America, from Maine to California. He doesnít get far. On a country road deep in the New England woods, he sees a sign to a place he has never been: the town where his father was born. He thinks, Whatís one extra day? He takes the detour. At the same moment, in the same isolated area, a car breaks down. Two young Canadians had been on their way to New York City to sell a treasure. Now theyíre stranded at a lonely motel in the middle of nowhere. The owners seem almost too friendly. Itís a strange place, but itís all there is.

The next morning, in the city clerkís office, Reacher asks about the old family home. Heís told no one named Reacher ever lived in town. Heís always known his father left and never returned, but now Reacher wonders, Was he ever there in the first place?

As Reacher explores his fatherís life, and as the Canadians face lethal dangers, strands of different stories begin to merge. Then Reacher makes a shocking discovery: The present can be tough, but the past can be tense . . . and deadly.

I am only partway into this book, but Jack Reacher is alive and well digging into his past and trouble at the same time.  Child is doing it again, with flair.

As always Lee Child doesn't disappoint.  Another great Jack Reacher story.  The only thing I hate is I have to wait so long to get the next book.

Past Tense January 11, 2019
Reviewer: C & J GLEIN from Maryville, TN United States
I have purchased signed books from VJ books for more years than I can remember and every book I've recieved have been packed so professionally that each book arrived in perfect condition.  We're collectors but not necessarily high end collectors as we buy only what we want to read or use as a gift.  I, personally like to get the first 3 books of new authours in the hopes they'll  be collectable for a long time.  VJ Books always answer my questions, chase down books I'm looking for and always friendly when helping.  Many thanks John and  Virginia and staff.

Lee Child never disappoints January 10, 2019
Reviewer: P Harrison from Sandy, UT United States
There are some writers I continue to read, even though their quality has declined over the years due to laziness, political agenda, over production ... or maybe they are just out of gas. (I don’t even read Grisham any more. I just buy his books out of loyalty.) Lee Child is NOT one of these. He never disappoints. Jack reacher is always true to character and is aging authentically. The stories are still gripping, with Child’s ability to put his characters in an impossible situation, then have Reacher work them of it. Past tense is as good as any of his novels, better than some. After reading it I was inspired to go back to the beginning and reread all is books one more time.
