VJ Books Presents Author Linwood Barclay!
Linwood Barclay was born in Darien, Connecticut in 1955. As a small child, his family relocated to Toronto. Barclay developed an interest in writing at an early age. At 16, after the death of his father, he took over most of the responsibilities of running his family's cottage resort business, and soon also began working at a small, local newspaper. He studied Literature at Trent University in Ontario, and after graduating he began working for the Toronto Star. He held various editorial positions, including chief copy editor, before becoming the paper's humor columnist. He remained in this position for 15 years until he switched to writing books full time.
Barclay has written three books in the humor genre, as well as his memoir, Last Resort (2000). His first novel, Bad Move, was published in 2004 and introduced his Zack Walker series. He now has 20 novels to his name, and his novel Too Close to Home (2008) won the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Novel. In addition, he has written a couple of children's stories.
Barclay lives in Oakville, Ontario with his wife Neetha. They have two adult children, Spencer and Paige.
