Author Megan AbbotMegan Abbot is an Edgar-winning crime novelist originally hailing from the Detroit area. She graduated from the University of Michigan before recieving her Ph.D. in English and American literature from New York University. She has taught at NY, SUNY, and the New School. In 2013 she was selected as the John and Renée Grisham Writer-in-Residence at the University of Mississippi.

Abbot has recieved or been nominated for countless other awards including the International Thriller Writers Award, the Hammet Price, and the Shirly Jackson prize. She has also written for television and is currently serving as the co-creator, executive producer, and show-runner of the original series Dare Me which is based on one of her novels. The new share will air in the United States on USA Network and internationally on Netflix.

Abbot is a master of hardboiled fiction, drawing inspiration from film noir and noir fiction. Her novels, which center around female protagonists and antagonists, are well deserving of the praise and acolades she has recieved.
