Book Description

ON A KILL by Robert Alvir - FIRST EDITION TRADE PAPER BOOK

In the year 2039, New America has established a restructured justice system employing killer-hunters to stop violent crime. These killer-hunters, or "enders," are sent out to eliminate the fugitive murderers assigned to them.
Troy is an ender. He has made his living doing the job, but along with his years of experience, burn-out and self-doubt befall him. Troy is disenchanted with the type of work he does. Is it right to eliminate the criminal element through violent means, or is it rationalizing some innate, primeval instinct? Troy's job had destroyed his previous marriage and is presently affecting his present relationship with Gwen, a female ender. Compounding his problems, Troy succumbs to alcoholism and suicidal behavior. As his confusion grows, Troy takes on his next assignment. With the aid of hi-tech weaponry and his Doberman pinscher Napoleon, Troy searches for his target through dangerous locations such as the Brooklyn Badlands, the No Holds Bar, Madame Shane's bordello, and a Russian roulette gambling house. Troy is hunting down Jeremy Brecht, a sociopathic crime lord who finds pleasure in the destruction of human life. Brecht has accepted his killer instinct. Troy cannot!

The troubled agent is determined to find Jeremy Brecht . . . while trying to find himself.
