John discovers author Ben Coes!
Once in awhile I miss one . . . it happens. While I try to stay on top of the new authors in the genre sometimes the publishers are reluctant to help us connect with the new talent. This happened last fall when newcomer Ben Coes released his first book, Power Down. While I heard good things at the time, I passed on this title. Wow, what a mistake. Recently a friend in the trade again recommended Coes, and this time gave me his phone number. I called and found him more than willing to sign books for our customers. .
So I thought I'd better read Power Down to see what all the excitement was about. This is when I met Dewey Andreas, my kind of hero, tough, gritty, reluctant. Vince Flynn calls Power Down "terrific . . . one of the must-read thrillers of the year." So I had to find room on my shelf right next to Vince Flynn, Lee Child, Steve Hunter, and Brad Thor. Thanks Ben!
I powered through Coes debut book, and one of the advantages of reading it a year late is that when I was done I could pick-up Coup D'Etat and continue reading. What a ride! As luck would have it, I was able to find a box of 1st editions of Power Down, and got them signed with Coup D'Etat. So here's your chance to own them both, because if you like Jack Reacher, if you trust Mitch Rapp, and if you long to hear from Bob Lee Swagger, Dewey Andreas awaits.
