I must state on the record I think Clive is the best author out there. This book is the 8th about the crew of the ship "the Oregon". It is a mixture of mostly ex CIA and ex military and they combine in some brilliant adventures which are a treat to read. Although in a series this is well written enough to be enjoyed as a stand alone although always better to have read from book 1.
It is fast paced and is a book you cannot put down even when you have to. I could not recommend this higher and is a treat to read and I suggest if you have not read a Cussler before then try this for a great story. Written with jack DuBrul who is also an established author in his own right it leads into a great yarn.
This book follows as usual from an historic event regarding some chrystals and how they can be used to inflict major damage on the world, It puts all staf of the ship in serious jeopardy with a few great twists and turns before it is resolved.
