David McCallumDavid Keith McCallum, Jr. was born on September 19, 1933 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. McCallum is an actor (best known for his roles in the televisions series Man from U.N.C.L.E. and NCIS), musician, and author.

He next did his National Service, for which he was commissioned into the Middlesex Regiment and seconded to the Gold Coast Regiment. In March 1954 he was promoted to full Lieutenant. He began his acting career doing boy voices for BBC Radio in 1947 and began taking bit parts in British films from the late 1950s. His first acting role was in Whom the Gods Love, Die Young playing a doomed royal.

McCallum has been married to Katherine Carpenter since 1967. They have a son, Peter, and a daughter, Sophie. McCallum and his wife are active with charitable organizations that support the United States Marine Corps. He has six grandchildren.

Once a Crooked Man is McCallum's debut novel.
