Author Dean DeLukeOcccasionally I get to get a first glance at an authors first book. Recently I had the opportunity to read one by newcomer Dean DeLuke. It has been reported that Shedrow is kinda a cross between Dick Francis and Robin Cook. The story revolves around horses, and superbly reveals elements of the horse racing community that the unschooled probably aren't familiar with and will find very fascinating. It is a racetrack thriller reminiscent of the late Dick Francis' earlier works.

The story revolves around the mysterious death of a multimillion dollar stallion on a supposedly secure farm in Lexington Kentucky, and as the main character Dr. Anthony Gianni soon learns, the interests of the horse racing community and organized crime have been connected for a long time. The horse, Chiefly Endeavour, shows promise. He might even be Triple Crown material, or is he worth more dead . . . as an insurance claim?

The story, the characters, and the different locales add to this first mystery loaded with action and suspense. Many worlds are destined to collide as high society and the racing elite, medical and veterinary specialists, mob figures, and Kentucky hill folk all become entangled in the story line.

Shedrow by Dean M. DeLukeDr. Dean DeLuke divides his time between the practice of oral and maxillofacial surgery and a variety of business consulting activities. Perhaps Dr. DeLuke can help to fill the void left by the passing of Dick Francis. Fans of the later have flattered Dr. DeLuke with such comparisons. We'll let you be the judge! Order Shedrow here
