Iris Johansen is a New York Times bestselling author of over 100 novels. She began her writing after her children left home for college. She first achieved success in the early 1980s writing category romances. In 1991, Johansen began writing suspense historical romance novels, starting with the publication of
The Wind Dancer. In 1996 Johansen switched genres, turning to crime fiction, with which she has had great success. Johansen began writing after her children left for college. She now has over 30 consecutive books make the New York Times bestseller list, and her novel The Killing Game (2011) was adapted as a Lifetime movie.In addition to her own books, she has collaborated with her son, Roy Johansen> on a number of novels. Roy is an Edgar-winning screenplay writer and novelist, and her daughter Tamara is also instrumental to her work, serving as her research assistant.
Johansen was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She now divides her time between Florida and Georgia. Her newest title, The Survivor, brings together two of her most popular protaganists, Eve Duncan and Riley Smith.
