VJ Books Presents Author Simon Toyne!
Simon Toyne (born February 29, 1968) wanted to be an actor until a degree in English and Drama at Goldsmith's College in London made him realize that he really didn't. Toyne wanted to tell his own story and decided to write screenplays and direct films. He wrote and directed a few shorts and produced a couple of full-length screenplays that were designed to be his ticket to the big time. To fund the work, he also freelanced in television, starting as a runner in an editing facility in Soho, then gradually working his way up the production ladder. His show-reel of self-produced, self-written, directed and edited films got him noticed and he became a director at age 25. Simon is a successful TV producer with a good track record and a good job in leading UK independent production company. He and his family moved to France so that he could focus on writing his novel but later moved back to London and went back to his work freelancing. It took another year and a half to finish the book. Sanctus is the result, the first book of the Sanctus trilogy. The second book in the Sanctus trilogy, The Key, was published in the U.K. in April 2012 with the U.S. edition released June 2012. The Tower, the third and final installment of the trilogy, was released April 2013..
