Wolf Gift Anne RiceDear John:

Hi - My son gave me the thoughtful gift of an Anne Rice signed The Wolf Gift first edition. (which he purchased from your store) I have collected numerous volumes signed by the author, and usually the author signs on the title page. Every photo of a signed The Wolf Gift that I've seen on the internet has the signature on the title page.
Can you explain the anomaly of the signature on my book being located on a blank page after the front loose endpaper? Thanks for any info you can give.

G.

John Replies:

Hi -

On various editions the publisher produces signed editions at the warehouse for distribution to bookstores. These are frequently signed on a blank page, added to the book at binding. They vary from books signed while the author is on tour only in the placement of the signature. The signature is legitimate and the book is considered no less valuable because of the placement. Some collectors prefer that all books are signed on the title page, but this is not always in our control.

John
