Dear John:

I just received my book (Heart-Shaped Box by Joe Hill) and it looks great, but I have a question. I already had this book, I was just buying a signed copy, but the book you sent has red boards and the title on the spine is written in silver/gray, while my other first edition, first printing copy has gray boards with red writing on the spine.

Can you tell me if there were multiple colors printed on this first edition? I've searched the internet and found nothing.

I just wondered if you could tell me anything more about this book?

Thanks,

Katie

John responds:

We have seen it in both states on this and other books. It's a natural process of book manufacturing. For instance, Clive Cussler's Lost City came with Blue and Red boards and some complete-est collectors wanted both for their collections.
